aria-live=\"polite\" aria-atomic=\"true\">\n<p>Two people have been killed in tornadoes in the Midwest region of the United States amid a spate of extreme weather, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>At least four tornadoes touched down as intense \u201csupercell\u201d thunderstorms swept across northern Illinois and northwestern Indiana on Wednesday, according to the Do not try to help right now,\u201d Cothran said, standing in front of the couple\u2019s destroyed home.<\/p>\n<p>Parts of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio remained on tornado watch into the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>About 40km (25 miles) east of Lake Village, another tornado touched down in Kankakee County, Illinois, late Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the tornado caused extensive damage as it travelled across the suburb of Aroma Park.
