Captured from Orion as Earth dips beyond the lunar horizon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The four-member crew \u2013 US astronauts Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch and Victor Glover, along with Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen \u2013 are on a landmark journey looping around Earth\u2019s natural satellite, part of a broader programme intended to pave the way for a moon landing in 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Along the way, they have described in vivid detail the contours and craters of the lunar surface and later observed a solar eclipse, when the moon passed in front of the sun.<\/p>\n<p>The White House also posted a NASA image of the eclipse, calling it \u201ca view few in human history have ever witnessed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 1968, Apollo 8 orbited the moon 10 times without landing.
