(AP Photo\/Francisco Seco, File)\" fetchpriority=\"low\"\/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4477060\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fury, right, lost a split decision to Usyk during their first fight on May 19, 2024 [Francisco Seco\/AP Photo]<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"who-is-makhmudov\">Who is Makhmudov?<\/h2>\n<p>Makhmudov went on a solid run after turning professional, reaching 18-0 until his first defeat \u2013 a stoppage loss to Agit Kabayel in December 2023.<\/p>\n<p>But while he\u2019s racked up a lot of impressive knockouts and wins over decent fighters such as Dave Allen and Carlos Takam, he also lost to Guido Vianello after a stoppage due to a swollen eye and will face a whole new level of quality in Fury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This week, Makhmudov spoke about how he once travelled to Moscow to fight a bear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt was very terrible, to be honest,\u201d he told The Guardian. \u201cOne of my friends make me an offer [to fight the bear].<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\u201cHe said: \u2018Do you want to make crazy stuff?\u2019 I said: \u2018OK, I cannot refuse.\u2019 But I will never do it again. A lot of boxing is mental, and he is a master. But boxing is also spiritual.
