Former two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has come out of retirement (yet again) and will make his comeback against the dangerous Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The \u201cGypsy King\u201d, 37, has been out of the ring for 15-months following back-to-back losses to undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk \u2013 the first defeats in the British boxer\u2019s long career.<\/p>\n

Fury needs a victory to get his career back on track and says he is looking ahead to a possible long-awaited fight against fellow British boxer Anthony Joshua; however, the 36-year-old Makhmudov will not be a mere tune-up opponent.<\/p>\n
The Dagestani boxer, now based in Canada, is a devastating puncher, with 90 percent of his wins coming by knockout, and is only a couple of inches shorter than the man-mountain Fury.<\/p>\n

Start times and how to watch<\/h2>\n
The main card is scheduled to start at 7pm (18:00 GMT) and will be broadcast on Netflix.<\/p>\n
Fury and Makhmudov are set to make their ringwalks shortly after 10:00pm (21:00 GMT), with the fight expected to start about 10:30pm. It is scheduled for 12 rounds.<\/p>\n
The co-main event between Conor Benn and Regis Prograis is set to start about 9:30pm (20:30 GMT).<\/p>\n
Who is Tyson Fury?<\/h2>\n
The voluble and charismatic British boxer beat Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 to claim his first heavyweight title.<\/p>\n
He later returned from a long layoff due to ill health to fight an incredible trilogy with Deontay Wilder \u2013 drawing with the American knockout artist in their first encounter, but emerging victorious in the next two to win and defend the WBC world title.<\/p>\n
In recent years, the Gypsy King has also fought Usyk (twice losing to the Ukrainian) and defeated Derek Chisora three times.<\/p>\n
Fury survived a scare in a boxing match in October 2023 against mixed martial arts athlete Francis Ngannou, as the Gypsy King got up from being knocked to the canvas on his way to a split-decision win.<\/p>\n
He has now come out of retirement for the fifth time to face Makhmudov.<\/p>\n

Makhmudov went on a solid run after turning professional, reaching 18-0 until his first defeat \u2013 a stoppage loss to Agit Kabayel in December 2023.<\/p>\n
But while he\u2019s racked up a lot of impressive knockouts and wins over decent fighters such as Dave Allen and Carlos Takam, he also lost to Guido Vianello after a stoppage due to a swollen eye and will face a whole new level of quality in Fury.<\/p>\n
This week, Makhmudov spoke about how he once travelled to Moscow to fight a bear.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was very terrible, to be honest,\u201d he told The Guardian. \u201cOne of my friends make me an offer [to fight the bear].<\/p>\n
\u201cHe said: \u2018Do you want to make crazy stuff?\u2019 I said: \u2018OK, I cannot refuse.\u2019 But I will never do it again. The bear tried to bite me and it was a good thing that never happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Gypsy King told the BBC this week that he feels \u201cas good as I\u2019ve ever felt\u201d and is \u201cas sharp as I\u2019ve ever been\u201d and said he had been motivated by the prospect of facing a genuinely dangerous opponent in Makhmudov.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know I\u2019ve got a stone-cold killer in this man and he can put me out with one shot \u2026 so that means that I have to be on my form to deal with this guy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
However, Fury is already looking ahead to a possible fight against Joshua if he beats Makhmudov.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve got Arslanbek Makhmudov to think of on Saturday night, but all going well [Joshua is] the fight I want next,\u201d he told \u200cthe BBC.<\/p>\n
What has Makhmudov said about the fight?<\/h2>\n
The Dagestani fighter says he is relishing the opportunity to pit himself against Fury, who he described as a \u201clegend\u201d in an interview with The Guardian.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know how I will beat [Fury], but of course I believe I will win,\u201d Makhmudov said. \u201cThis guy, he is a legend, one of the best heavyweights in history.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cTyson Fury is the professor of mind and boxing. A lot of boxing is mental, and he is a master. But boxing is also spiritual. I am going to be strong, spiritual and smart.<\/p>\n

The Gypsy King\u2019s father, John, has frequently been a vocal and volatile part of his son\u2019s entourage for recent fights, but it is unknown if he will be at the bout this weekend, as the two have fallen out.<\/p>\n
