(Photo by Luis TATO \/ AFP)\" fetchpriority=\"low\"\/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4482335\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Members of the Djiboutian army queue to cast their votes [Luis Tato\/AFP]<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"little-competition\">Little competition<\/h2>\n<p>Even as voters turned in their ballots on Friday, few doubted who would win.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands had gathered at Guelleh\u2019s campaign rallies ahead of the election, while his posters could be seen plastered across the capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In contrast, just a few dozen people were present at one of Samatar\u2019s campaign events broadcast by state media, the AFP news agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>Still, he rallied in the Tadjourah and Obock regions under the tagline that \u201canother Djibouti is possible\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Deka Aden Mohamed, 38, told AFP on Friday that he planned to vote for Guelleh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI don\u2019t even know what his opponent looks like,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Guelleh\u2019s most recent victory in 2021 saw him take 98 percent of votes.
