{"id":19704,"date":"2026-04-21T00:56:04","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T23:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inernews.online\/?p=19704"},"modified":"2026-04-21T00:56:04","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T23:56:04","slug":"predators-amnesty-slams-netanyahu-putin-trump-as-human-rights-decline-human-rights-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inernews.online\/?p=19704","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Predators\u2019: Amnesty slams Netanyahu, Putin, Trump as human rights decline | Human Rights News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div aria-live=\"polite\" aria-atomic=\"true\">\n<p><strong>London, United Kingdom \u2013<\/strong> Israel, Russia and the United States are leading the destruction of global human rights, Amnesty International has said, describing the three countries\u2019 leaders as \u201cvoracious predators\u201d intent upon economic and political domination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA global environment where primitive ferocity could flourish has been long in the making,\u201d Agnes Callamard, the head of the global rights group, wrote in an annual report on the state of the world\u2019s human rights that was released on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<section class=\"more-on\">\n<h2 class=\"more-on__heading\">Recommended Stories<!-- --> <\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">list of 4 items<\/span><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">end of list<\/span><\/section>\n<p>In 2025, \u201csharp U-turns were taken away from the international order that had been imagined out of the ashes of the Holocaust and the utter destruction of world wars, and constructed slowly and painfully, albeit insufficiently, over these past 80 years,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>In a news conference on Monday in London, Callamard said that most governments tend to appease the \u201cpredators\u201d rather than confront them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome even thought to imitate the bullies and the looters,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Spain, however, which is an outlier in Europe for its criticism of Israel\u2019s genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and US-Israeli attacks on Iran, \u201cis standing above the double standard that is destroying the international system\u201d, Callamard said.<\/p>\n<p>She argued that Israel\u2019s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump and Russia\u2019s President Vladimir Putin, who in 2022 sent his forces into neighbouring Ukraine, have had an \u201cabsolutely dramatic\u201d impact on the world.<\/p>\n<p>Their conduct is \u201cemboldening all of those that are tempted by similar behaviours,\u201d said Callamard. \u201cIt is allowing for the multiplication of copycats around the world, and therefore what we are confronting now is much more aggressive and ferocious than what we had to confront three or four years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"authoritarian-practices-have-intensified-worldwide\">\u2018Authoritarian practices have intensified worldwide\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Amnesty\u2019s review of the state of the world\u2019s human rights makes for grim reading, documenting attacks on fundamental civil liberties in most nations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAuthoritarian practices have intensified worldwide\u201d, the report reads, before running through abuses alleged in countries from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe in 400 pages.<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s genocide in Gaza, Russia\u2019s \u201ccrimes against humanity\u201d in Ukraine, and the US-Israeli war on Iran were noted as examples of conflict in which international laws have been ignored.<\/p>\n<p>In a section on repression, the United Kingdom is blamed for cracking down on the Palestine solidarity movement and Palestine Action, the direct-action group that targets sites associated with the Israeli military and is currently fighting a legal battle against its UK proscription as a \u201cterrorist\u201d organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Afghanistan\u2019s Taliban was responsible for further gender-based discrimination in 2025, the report noted, citing measures excluding women from education and work, while Nepalese authorities were said to have failed to investigate instances of gender-based violence against Dalit women.<\/p>\n<p>Amnesty\u2019s report comes as multiple conflicts rage across the world.<\/p>\n<p>The US-Israeli assault on Iran has killed more than 3,000 people, while Israeli attacks in Lebanon have killed nearly 2,400. In Gaza, the confirmed number of people killed in Israeli attacks since October 2023 has surpassed 72,500 as the decimated territory is continually threatened by Israeli bombardment.
