And that\u2019s not what the monarchy does,\u201d Vovk said, adding the royal approach is to \u201csmooth things over\u201d by following government guidance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1767\" data-end=\"1926\">Vovk added he would be \u201cstunned\u201d if there were any moments where the King and the US president engaged with people outside tightly controlled settings.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1928\" data-end=\"2231\">The etiquette rules are surprisingly relaxed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1928\" data-end=\"2231\">\u201cThere are probably fewer rules than people expect,\u201d Matta said. While it is customary not to walk in front of the monarch or initiate physical contact, these rules are applied with flexibility.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2233\" data-end=\"2440\">\u201cWe would expect to hear Trump refer to the King as \u2018Your Majesty\u2019 instead of\u2026 Charles. But that\u2019s the only really formal piece. Even bowing and curtsying, especially in America, is not required,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2442\" data-end=\"2797\">Cultural differences may still be noticeable. Americans tend to be \u201cmore casual\u201d and more comfortable with physical contact, while British protocol places more emphasis on restraint. However, any awkward moments are unlikely to disrupt the visit. As Matta noted, the system is designed so the monarch can \u201cnot show a reaction\u201d and \u201ccarry on with dignity.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-are-the-key-moments-and-signals-to-watch\">What are the key moments and signals to watch?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"134\" data-end=\"219\">Analysts say one key signal will be how the visit is received by the American public.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"221\" data-end=\"502\">\u201cSomething to watch this time is how this visit plays with the American people, how they react to it,\u201d Vovk explained.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"504\" data-end=\"728\">The visit is meant to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence and celebrate \u201ctwo and a half centuries of peace, alliance, and friendship\u201d. But Vovk warned the current political climate could shape how it unfolds.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"888\">\u201cThe political climate in the US right now is tremendously volatile,\u201d he said, pointing to the \u201cNo Kings\u201d protest movement directed at President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"890\" data-end=\"1174\">\u201cIf you have the king from the country that the Americans broke from coming to visit at this time, it is entirely possible that this could spark new waves of protest,\u201d Vovk said, adding it could give the movement \u201csome wind in their sails\u201d and redirect public anger towards the visit.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1252\">\u201cThat may not happen\u2026 but I think that\u2019s a very real possibility,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"121\" data-end=\"190\">Vovk also said Trump\u2019s reactions will be another key signal to watch.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"383\">\u201cWhen Trump visited the king earlier this year, everything was very tightly controlled.
