Honestly, I\u2019m heartbroken\u2026 All I\u2019ve wanted to do is fight for \u2060\u2060my team and now the ability \u2060\u2060to do that has been snatched away from me\u2026 along with the World Cup. Representing my country this summer\u2026 just gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simons was \u2060\u2060expected to be an important player in Ronald Koeman\u2019s Netherlands squad for \u2060\u2060what would have been his second \u2060\u2060World Cup after his debut in 2022.
