{"id":2655,"date":"2025-11-19T15:23:16","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T15:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inernews.online\/?p=2655"},"modified":"2025-11-19T15:23:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T15:23:16","slug":"deadly-israeli-attack-on-gaza-brings-death-toll-since-ceasefire-to-280-israel-palestine-conflict-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inernews.online\/?p=2655","title":{"rendered":"Deadly Israeli attack on Gaza brings death toll since ceasefire to 280 | Israel-Palestine conflict News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div aria-live=\"polite\" aria-atomic=\"true\">\n<p>At least one Palestinian has been killed and two others \u2013 a woman and her child \u2013 injured in Israeli attacks on southern Gaza, according to the Wafa news agency and a medical source.<\/p>\n<p>The killing came on Wednesday in the Qizan an-Najjar area, south of Khan Younis, a source from the city\u2019s Nasser Hospital told Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n<section class=\"more-on\">\n<h2 class=\"more-on__heading\">Recommended Stories<!-- --> <\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">list of 3 items<\/span><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">end of list<\/span><\/section>\n<p>Earlier, a woman and her child were gravely injured in a drone attack on the southern town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.<\/p>\n<p>They add to 279 killings and more than 650 injuries in nearly 400 Israeli violations recorded by the enclave\u2019s Government Media Office since the October 10 ceasefire brokered by the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The office called on \u201cUS President Donald Trump, the mediating countries, the guarantors of the agreement, and the UN Security Council to take serious and effective action to stop these attacks, restrain the occupation, and compel it to strictly adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement and the humanitarian protocol, thereby ensuring the protection of civilians and putting an end to the escalating violations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the United Nations Security Council had approved a resolution, drafted by the US as part of Trump\u2019s 20-point peace plan, mandating a transitional administration and an international stabilisation force in Gaza that envisions a \u201ccredible pathway\u201d to Palestinian statehood. The resolution passed in a 13-0 vote, with Russia and China abstaining.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of progress has been made with respect to Gaza and just about everything else we touch,\u201d Trump said on Tuesday in a news conference during a visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) to Washington, DC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust yesterday, the United Nations Security Council formally adopted my peace plan and officially endorsed the board of peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump said the so-called board of peace would \u201cend up being quite a large board because it\u2019ll be the heads of every major country\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Hosting MBS for dinner at the White House, Trump said, \u201cI hope your highness will be on the board.\u201d He also thanked MBS for his role in securing the ceasefire, without elaborating further.<\/p>\n<p>Under the UNSC resolution, the board will serve as an interim administration, handling security, public services and reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>It remains unclear how it will be implemented, but its mandate will run until the end of 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera\u2019s Hani Mahmoud said Palestinians are more concerned about the immediate challenges they are facing in their daily lives than Trump\u2019s idea of a board of peace, which is \u201cstill a political concept\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey worry about waking up in the morning and trying to get clean drinking water into their displacement areas,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>People also wake up \u201cworried about the next heavy rainfall, how to stay dry and how to protect their children\u201d, Mahmoud added.<\/p>\n<p>Above all, \u201cPalestinians want to know what\u2019s going to happen next\u201d, Mahmoud said, adding, as if they will be allowed to return to their homes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4117427\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4117427\" style=\"width:770px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-arc-image-770 wp-image-4117427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/ap_691db901b6d7c-1763555585.jpg?w=770&amp;resize=770%2C513&amp;quality=80\" alt=\"Palestinian women struggle to receive donated food at a community kitchen in Nuseirat, central Gaza Strip, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025. Israel has been routinely firing and killing Palestinians venturing to check on the ruins of their homes in areas it controls in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolitical diplomacy is not changing the course of things on the ground for them so far \u2026 People need a clear roadmap into ending all forms of violence, opening the crossings and making them more operational \u2026 they want proper and efficient access to food and water supplies,\u201d said Mahmoud.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"winter-is-coming-for-palestinians\">\u2018Winter is coming\u2019 for Palestinians<\/h2>\n<p>Under the ceasefire, aid deliveries were supposed to be significantly ramped up, with at least 600 trucks due to enter Gaza each day to fulfil the population\u2019s needs. But the numbers have been much lower than that, and the UN has warned that the hunger crisis in Gaza remains catastrophic.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also touted the return of the captives to Israel as part of his 20-point plan, though he incorrectly stated that Hamas still has two bodies left to return when the actual figure is three.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of work has been done by Hamas, and a lot of people said they wouldn\u2019t be doing that,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>At the start of the truce, Hamas held 20 living captives and 28 bodies of the deceased. In exchange, Israel has released nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in its custody and returned the bodies of hundreds of deceased Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also want to thank all of the people living in Gaza \u2026 They\u2019ve begun to move back to their homes \u2026 [They have] a lot more safety than they\u2019ve ever had before,\u201d Trump claimed.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic, Philippe Lazzarini, the chief of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), disputed Trump\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe residents of the Gaza Strip are suffering from disease and displacement, and insufficient resources are entering the Strip,\u201d said Lazzarini. \u201cThe aid entering Gaza is insufficient, and food is unavailable due to high prices.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinter is coming, and this will add further hardship to the residents of the Strip due to the rain and cold.
