said on Friday<\/a> that its teams in Gaza had treated several Palestinian women and children \u201cwith open fractures and gunshot wounds to their limbs and head\u201d amid the wave of Israeli attacks.<\/p>\nZaher, an MSF nurse working at a mobile clinic in Gaza City, said they treated a woman with a leg injury and a nine-year-old girl with a facial wound caused by Israeli quadcopter gunfire.<\/p>\n
Mohammed Malaka, a patient at al-Shifa Hospital, also in Gaza City, said he heard the sounds of two incoming missiles before he lost consciousness.<\/p>\n
\u201cI opened my eyes and saw my father on the ground, and I saw my three brothers on the ground, covered in blood and dust was everywhere,\u201d he told MSF.<\/p>\n
\u201cI could hear people screaming everywhere \u2026 the tents had become ashes, and people were lying on the ground everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to the Israeli attacks, Palestinians across Gaza continue to struggle amid Israel\u2019s continued restrictions on deliveries of humanitarian aid, including tents needed to shield displaced families during the colder winter months.<\/p>\n
UNICEF\u2019s Pires said many children are \u201csleeping in the open\u201d and \u201ctrembling in fear while living in flooded, makeshift shelters\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reality imposed on Gaza\u2019s children remains brutally simple: There is no safe place for them and the world cannot continue to normalise their suffering,\u201d he said, urging more assistance to be allowed into the territory.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor hundreds of thousands of children living in tents over the rubble of their former homes, the new [winter] season is a threat multiplier. Children are shivering through the night with no heating, no insulation, and too few blankets.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
