It also claimed it destroyed one Russian tank, three armoured combat vehicles, 21 artillery units, 214 drones and two aircraft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"diplomacy\">Diplomacy<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Russian officials expressed caution over the prospect of a quick peace deal. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that while negotiations are \u201congoing\u201d and \u201cserious\u201d, it is \u201cpremature\u201d to suggest a deal is imminent.<\/li>\n<li>Russia\u2019s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Moscow is not ready to publicly discuss the Trump administration\u2019s recently modified peace plan, but that it will not budge on its key demands. \u201cThe overall success of this process is not guaranteed,\u201d he said.<\/li>\n<li>Still, US special envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow next week, the exact date of which is yet to be confirmed, according to Russia\u2019s Peskov.<\/li>\n<li>European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said the Trump-backed peace plan is a \u201cstarting point\u201d but requires more work to ensure future Ukrainian and European security.<\/li>\n<li>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated his call for further sanctions on Russia, accusing the country of obstructing peace efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Sweden\u2019s Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard also urged the EU to immediately enact a 20th round of sanctions on Russia.<\/li>\n<li>Numerous Baltic states issued strong statements of support for Ukraine after a meeting of EU foreign ministers, with Estonia\u2019s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna saying peace talks must begin with \u201cfirm conditions for the aggressor, not the victim\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"energy\">Energy<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Ukraine\u2019s Ministry of Energy urged the public to conserve electricity and warned of emergency outages in some regions where energy infrastructure has been targeted by Russian attacks.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine\u2019s prime minister said the state would provide targeted energy assistance to 280,000 families living in front-line areas to help them \u201cget through the winter period more easily and meet basic needs\u201d, including by paying for up to 300 kilowatt hours per family monthly.<\/li>\n<li>Putin, on a state visit to Kyrgyzstan, announced Russia\u2019s state nuclear energy corporation is considering building a nuclear power facility in the former Soviet state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are the key events from day 1,372 of Russia\u2019s war on Ukraine.
