{"id":5470,"date":"2025-12-15T11:27:47","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T11:27:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inernews.online\/?p=5470"},"modified":"2025-12-15T11:27:47","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T11:27:47","slug":"africa-cup-of-nations-2025-full-match-schedule-teams-groups-and-format-football-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inernews.online\/?p=5470","title":{"rendered":"Africa Cup of Nations 2025: Full match schedule, teams, groups and format | Football News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div aria-live=\"polite\" aria-atomic=\"true\">\n<ul>\n<li>The Africa Cup of Nations, commonly known as AFCON, will be held in Morocco this year and kicks off in the capital, Rabat, on Sunday.<\/li>\n<li>Host nation Morocco take on Comoros in the opening match of the four week tournament.<\/li>\n<li>The final will be held on January 18 at the 69,500-capacity Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.<\/li>\n<li>Nine venues across six cities have been selected for the continental showpiece event.<\/li>\n<li>The 24 participating teams have been drawn into six groups, with 68 matches in total.<\/li>\n<li>The group stage will run until December 31, with the knockout stage starting on January 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are the details on the teams, groups, format, match fixtures, kickoff times and venues for AFCON 2025:<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"teams-and-groups\">Teams and groups<\/h2>\n<p>\u26bd <strong>Group A<\/strong>: Morocco, Mali, Zambia, Comoros<br \/>\u26bd <strong>Group B<\/strong>: Egypt, South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe<br \/>\u26bd <strong>Group C<\/strong>: Nigeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania<br \/>\u26bd <strong>Group D<\/strong>: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, Botswana<br \/>\u26bd <strong>Group E<\/strong>: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan<br \/>\u26bd <strong>Group F<\/strong>: Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique<\/p>\n<section class=\"more-on\">\n<h2 class=\"more-on__heading\">Recommended Stories<!-- --> <\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">list of 4 items<\/span><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">end of list<\/span><\/section>\n<h2 id=\"format\">Format<\/h2>\n<p>The top two teams of each group, along with the best four third-placed teams, will advance to the knockout stage, beginning with the round of 16. That is followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final.
